Stoney's Rockin' Country Review

Stick around Las Vegas long enough and you're bound to see a tumbleweed. Think about that tumbleweed long enough and you're bound to see the need for a good, ol' country bar right here in Sin City. It's just logic. And Stoney's Rockin' Country is the logical place to go for all your Western nightlife needs.

Mechanical bull? Check.

Giant dance floor suitable for line-dancing one's heart out? Check.

Multiple options for thirst-quenching after a long day on the range (or the Strip), including one of the best all-you-can drink draft specials in town? Check.

Filling the void left by the July 2007 closing of cowboy-favorite Gilley's, Stoney's Rockin' Country is poised to become the go-to watering hole for the Wrangler-wearing set and anybody else looking for some down home fun.

As its name implies, Stoney's brings a little rock and roll along with its country, and the tunes coming from the club's speakers (and sizeable stage) aren't all Tim McGraw, all the time. Although, keeping that huge dance floor in mind, you can bet it's always going to be something you can dance to.

If dancing (or nightclubs) aren't usually your thing, check out the other side of the club where four lanes of machine bowling, numerous video games (including the beloved Golden Tee) and a row of electronic dart boards are housed, begging for you to throw a couple bucks into them.

The club itself is huge, managing to fit in the stage/dance floor area, the games area, a VIP cowboy lounge (complete with leather couches) and still leave plenty of room for a couple of bars and a souvenir counter.

And although it might not seem like a big deal, anyone who's spent the night pressed up against strangers (unintentionally) in a packed Vegas club will appreciate one of Stoney's finer details -- room to walk (or mosey).

Located off the Strip, which may be a selling point itself, Stoney's is the type of the club that pretty much necessitates making a night of it there. Although it's just a quick drive to the South Point and technically on Las Vegas Boulevard, after a couple turns on the mechanical bull and figuring out you've already gotten your money's worth on $20 all-you-can-drink drafts three times over, you won't want to leave anyway.

If you're a fan of down-to-earth people, room to breathe and are maybe itching to knock down a few pins or knock a few back, consider Stoney's your new home - on the range, of course.
