You may not know who Robin Antin is, but she knows you.
She knows you like a nightlife spot with a bit of flair. And by flair we're talking about sexy, burlesque-style dancers in a lounge act reminiscent of old Vegas.
That's right, the Pussycat Dolls are back in Las Vegas and with it the sultry performances of Pussycats and celebrity Pussycats that drove the group into stardom in the early 2000s.
The Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon, located next to Gallery Nightclub, is part nightclub, part bar and, of course, home of the burlesque performances that the Pussycats were originally known for.
The brand had a 16-month hiatus from Las Vegas after the Pussycat Dolls Lounge at Caesars closed (there's still a Pussycat Dolls party pit there). Antin, the Pussycat Dolls founder, had plans to re-open before it even closed and found a new home as part of Planet Hollywood's leap into the nightlife scene.
"The Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon is going to be the sexiest spot on the Strip," Antin said in a statement. "We've created the perfect atmosphere for every woman to showcase their 'inner Doll.'"
Showcase your "inner Doll," indeed. Women are the center of attention here. They are invited to jump on the stage with the legendary troupe and dance to their hearts' content. Additionally, bartenders hand out free shots to ladies willing to let them pour it in their mouths.
This version of the PCD Saloon is smaller than the old lounge. But at 4,500 square feet PCD Saloon is a nice companion to Gallery rather than a competitor. It's also a nice bonus considering one admission (or comp) gets you into both venues.
If you're not familiar with the old lounge, the space looks as you would expect. The wall behind the bar features D-O-L-L-S in oversized, red-lit lettering that sits behind the bar. An elevated claw-foot tub that was broken in by Doll-alumnus and Playboy model Carmen Electra during the grand opening sits in the middle of the dance floor. Two stripper poles stand across from the stage for Dolls, both the professional and novice variety, to seduce crowds with their moves.
The stage sits on the back wall where Dolls tantalize party goers with an up-close performance. Patrons can pull up stage-front seats or sit in one of the club's few VIP booths to the left and right of the stage.
To the right of the stage is an entrance to Gallery and the DJ booth. Music is pumped into the room early in the night, but as the crowds begin to build a DJ takes control in the PCD Saloon. Across from the DJ booth are two carousel-style horses, blinged out to make it look more adult. The Dolls tend to make the horses part of their routines for an erotic take on otherwise child-like item.
Ladies are invited to unleash their "inner Doll," and at the very least grab some free shots while there. And for the guys? Well, the guaranteed flock of women at PCD Saloon should be good starting point.
