Special events are held occasionally.
Mix lounge is a view with a room. You read that right. We’re not saying that the view is the only reason to go there, far from it. But the moment you see the view you’ll understand why we had to mention it first.
Gazing across the Las Vegas valley from the 64th floor of the Delano at Mandalay Bay, Mix is one of those not-so-rare spots in Vegas where luxury meets the expansive desert and says, “I’m a little bit better than you.” If you want to feel that polite arrogance for yourself, buy table service on the patio and look out over the kingdom you’ve rented for as long as you can stay somewhat sober. Even if you don’t get a place to sit outside, Mix distinguishes itself with standing room on the patio and plenty of bar seating indoors.
If you want a really special experience, there’s a VIP area upstairs. But if it’s stretching your budget, don’t worry about it. The space inside is inviting enough, has small bites of food until 11 p.m. and is connected to Mix Restaurant, so whatever night you’re looking to have you can find at Mix -- as long as it involves being set back from and high above the Las Vegas Strip.
This might not be the place for anyone who’s terribly shy. The huge windows continue into the restrooms so you can stare out over the horizon while you do your business. If you’ve ever dreamed of taking a break from a brilliant ultra-lounge to relieve yourself while looking down over those poor souls who have to pee in cramped stalls, then you’re weird. But you’re the kind of weird we like in Vegas.
Mix is cool, waving and always up for a good night. Head there after dinner at Mix Restaurant, or while you’re waiting for Light to open. Or just spend the entire night relaxing with a drink in one hand, someone special -- or someone you just met -- in the other and your eyes fixed on the city.
