JET Review

You fight with your friends about everything back home. You fight about where to eat, where to drink, who's going to win the World Series or which of you is the Miranda of the group. How could you have thought Vegas would be any different?

Sure, there's a certain amount of automatic harmony that comes from all being together in a place that goes by "Sin City," but there are going to be bumps along the way.

The biggest bump? Which club to go to.

You'll have one friend who wants to hear house, one friend who just wants to dance the night away and one friend that hates everything everyone else suggests.

What's a group of friends to do? Compromise – hit up JET at the Mirage.

See, the nice thing about JET is that it's basically three clubs in one. There's a main room with one vibe and two side rooms with two totally different vibes. The main room plays mostly mainstream music and the two side rooms play house and slightly less mainstream stuff.

One friend can camp out where the music's good and the other can camp out where the bar lines are shorter and everyone's happy. (For the record, those shorter bar lines are not at the main room bar – even if you don't want to commit to staying in one of the side rooms, it's usually easier to get a drink in one of them.)

Plus, in between the flashing lights, insane sound system and dance floor, there's usually something crazy (and awesome) going on.

JET, which opened on New Year's Eve 2006, has thrown some off-the-wall events in its time and it continues to do so regularly.

There's the annual "Pole-A-Palooza," where pole dancers compete for a $10,000 prize and "Boobs or Bust" – a nearly self-explanatory promotion where female club-goers compete for a pair of breast implants. There are concerts and birthday celebrations for famous people and more than one excuse to throw a giant, blowout party.

That said, we're not going to lie – JET can get crowded (in a good way). The best way to avoid a long wait is to get to the club early. The earlier you get there, the closer to the doors you'll be.

Plus, less waiting will keep the good will generated from picking a club everyone can agree on lasting all night.

Good luck finding a spot for breakfast the next morning.
