Christian Audigier The Nightclub Review

There are very few things that can be added to a nightclub that pretty much guarantee it's going to be exceptional.

On that very short list? Jellyfish tanks.

Lucky for everyone, the folks behind Christian Audigier The Nightclub (henceforth referred to as "Audigier" for the purposes of, well, brevity) had the presence of mind to wrangle up some of everyone's favorite gelatinous sealife and a place for them to live.

That place is in the middle of Vegas' home for all things roses, sequins and skulls – Audigier.

Taking up residence in a space once occupied by the club Tangerine (though you would never recognize it), Audigier is the namesake club of Christian Audigier – the visionary designer who immortalized tattoo artist Ed Hardy's designs on the apparel of trendsetters (and followers) the world over.

If you're unfamiliar with Ed Hardy, et al, don't worry, you'll very quickly become a believer.

Although Audigier isn't quite the sprawling behemoth that some Sin City clubs are, it's definitely the perfect size for what it sets out to do, and that's create a vibe that matches the brand.

The indoor space of the club has a lot of depth. There are a few elevated levels of booths and dance floor (and booths that double as dance floor), as well as a bar that's dropped down two feet into the ground. A DJ booth occupies a space along the wall that's simultaneously right in the heart of the action and out of the way instead of being a hindrance. The requisite stripper poles are even installed in such a way that it adds to the flow of the room.

Coupled with strategic use of the color red and faux-crocodile black leather upholstery, Audigier comes together as a big-looking intimate club, rather than a cramped-looking small club. Or, to put it better, the décor says "slightly swanky, sexy danger," while the room itself says, "you can breathe in here."

Accents of Audigier and his work with Ed Hardy are widespread throughout the club, from jewel-eyed skulls backing VIP booths to several-foot high photographic depictions of Ed Hardy-tattooed body parts.

The previously-gushed-about jellyfish tanks actually back a row of VIP booth seating, but in a way that they're easily gawked at by everyone, probably from the moment they enter the room. (Side note for the marine life inclined: the jellyfish are moon jellies, imported from Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef and an entire back room is dedicated to the cleaning and upkeep of the tanks and the jellyfish.)

And what makes Audigier all the more impressive is – this is all just inside. The club opens up to an outdoor patio with a view and a scene that could easily be one of the best in Vegas.

Wrapping around the front of Treasure Island, Audigier's patio sits on the "pirate" side of the Sirens of TI show, allowing not only a clear view of the action there, but a great slice of the Strip and the properties around the hotel.

A separate DJ booth spins under the outdoor staircase to Social House (whose diners are allowed free entrance into Audigier), while climate control features (cool air in the summer, heat in the winter) keep things enjoyable all year long.

Both the indoor and outdoor DJs – who, if it wasn't obvious, will spotlight different tracks – play music consistent with the Audigier and Ed Hardy vibe, so it's not uncommon to have a rock song roll into a house song and have it make perfect sense.

In fact, a lot of things you might not necessarily put together, come together in Audigier to make perfect sense and to leave Vegas to wonder why we never stuck them so close together before. Fashion has always been a part of nightlife, so bundling them together in one package for Sin City to consume?

Almost as cool as jelly fish tanks.
