Tour Description

You will be picked up from your hotel and then transported to a launch point near the base of Hoover Dam where you will begin a relaxing 11-mile raft trip down the Colorado River.

As you traverse Black Canyon, you are likely to see bighorn sheep grazing along the shoreline, ancient Native American petroglyphs along the canyon walls and bubbling natural hot springs.

Enjoy the beauty of the canyon while you dine on your prepared lunch as the tour stops on the beach. Your friendly and informative guide will explain the history of the area and the ancient ways the river was navigated by early explorers as they arrived from Mexico looking for gold and other treasures. There are many photo opportunities along this tour, so bring your camera.

From here you will return to Expedition Depot where you will be picked up in specially equipped, "Hummer" Deep Desert Exploration Vehicles (DDEV) that will take you places no other vehicle can. This will be the ride of your life as the Hummer powers through the rugged Frenchmen Mountains, arriving at the major fault line Lizard Eye Ridge. From there, return to your hotel.

Note: This is not a whitewater rafting adventure tour. The raft portion of this tour includes a slow water trip on a pontoon raft.
