Red Rock Race and Sports Book Review

It's a race and sports fan's dream -- wall-to-wall television screens.

At the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa, it's also reality.

At 18 feet high and 96 feet wide, the wall of televisions projecting sporting events to patrons is as awe-inspiring as the resort itself. The Red Rock Race and Sports Book is among the most modern and luxurious in town.

Eighteen projectors are used on the wall, which combines three giant-screen, 25 large-screen and 15 traditional big-screen television monitors. The wall bank is touted as the largest in any race and sports book in the state.

But the barrage of screens doesn't end there. The Red Rock's sports book has 213 individual monitors as well, providing patrons the opportunity to watch the game of their choice anywhere in the race and sports book arena. The spacious race section also offers a VIP area as well as 18 individual player terminals to give pony enthusiasts a plethora of options.

The Red Rock Race and Sports Book takes wagers on all major sporting events including NASCAR, golf, tennis, horse racing and boxing, as well as futures wagering.

And if the action alone doesn't whet your appetite, the adjacent Bagel Cafe, known for its 20 types of fresh bagels and delicious cream cheese, has a full menu to fill you up while you take in the action. The Bagel Cafe is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Red Rock is the jewel of the Station Casinos chain, and is involved with the same special events that are hallmarks of the Station chain: The Great Giveaway pro football contest that lasts all season long, and specials for horse players each year when the Kentucky Derby rolls around in May. The resort is also linked to The Sports Connection, Stations' Internet and phone wagering service.

Whether you are a horse player or sports fan, the lavish book is a must-see for Las Vegas visitors.
