Q and A with Jim
Why/when did you move here?
My wife and I moved here in the fall of 2003. Las Vegas could provide opportunities that you can't find back East, especially
for young professionals. It has a great economy that always seems to be growing.
When did you start at VEGAS.com, and what does your job entail?
I started on the tour side of VEGAS.com with Casino, Travel & Tours in January 2006. I spent a year supervising the golf and
monorail locations. Currently, I am the multimedia producer, which simply means I get to produce, edit and write all sorts
of video products. In short, I'm the video guy.
What is your favorite thing about working at VEGAS.com?
As corny as it sounds, I love my job. I get to play with video all day and interact with just about every department within
the company.
What are your hobbies?
I love to watch movies in the theater and watch/play all sorts of sports.
Give us a random fact about yourself
I am listed on IMDB for helping to write a movie ranked No. 8 on the worst horror films ever made.
Give us your top insider tips about Vegas
- Don't ever drive on Las Vegas Boulevard (aka the Las Vegas Strip), unless you are sightseeing (use Paradise Road or Frank
Sinatra Drive).
- Check out off-Strip casinos for better odds and deals when gambling.
- Race and sports books across the city don't post the same lines/point spreads. If you have time before the game, shop for the best deal in your favor.
