Q and A with Jeannie

Why/when did you move here?
I moved from Seattle to Vegas in August 1997. My dad won some money at one of the downtown casinos and decided to buy a house here!

When did you start at VEGAS.com, and what does your job entail?
I started working at VEGAS.com as a content developer in November 2005. My job is really tough. I get to enjoy spa treatments, go on fun and crazy tours, ride roller coasters and shop; then I write reviews based on these experiences for the website. These reviews give customers an idea of what to expect when they're planning their trip to Vegas.

What is your favorite thing about working at VEGAS.com?
I love going out to all the different places around town and getting the chance to talk with fun and interesting people. I also love the laid-back atmosphere and celebrity visits at the office. How many people get to hang out with Wayne Brady and Blue Man Group during work hours?

What are your hobbies?
I love going to concerts and discovering new music, traveling and shopping. Hanging out with my three cats is a lot of fun too.

I can recite just about every line of "Coming to America."

Give us your top insider tips about Vegas

  • There is more to this city than the actual Las Vegas Strip. Check out MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas. The gondola rides, shops, restaurants and free outdoor events gives you a nice break from all the craziness on the Strip.
  • If you're having a spa service, show up a lot earlier than your scheduled time. This way, you can enjoy all of the amenities, freshen up and unwind before experiencing your treatment.
  • You can't leave Vegas without visiting Fashion Show Mall! You just can't.
