MaxFlight 2002 Virtual Roller Coaster

Do you remember the old-school, early '90s Sega Genesis game, "Sonic the Hedgehog?"

If you do, think back to the part when you had Sonic collect the golden coins in a huge loop at top speed. Well, that pretty much sums up MaxFlight 2002's virtual roller coaster experience.

If you have the strong stomach and if moving side-to-side and upside down at top speed tickles your fancy, then this is the ride for you. At first glance, the ride looks innocent and harmless. After all, there aren't any steep tracks or loops to make it appear intimidating. But once you climb into the pod and fasten your seatbelt and harness, this may just be the most thrilling ride of your life. The crazy corkscrews and twists put traditional roller coaster loops to shame. We're serious.

If you're able to keep your eyes open as you spin 360 degrees, you'll see 3-D graphics of asteroids and meteors on a 52-inch projector screen. While the graphics are reminiscent of older video games (keep in mind this is Max Flight 2002), it does its job of making you feel like you're out of this world. The feel of real wind whipping you in the face adds to the adventure.

After you leave your ride, be careful. You might stumble around like you've had a few drinks. One thing's for certain: Saying Max Flight 2002 takes you for a little spin is truly an understatement.

Built by the MaxFlight Corporation, the two-minute long ride has 15 different roller coaster segments randomly pieced together, creating a unique experience for its passengers.
