The Linq

Just when you thought the Las Vegas Strip couldn't get any more dazzling, think again. 

Opening in late 2013, The Linq will feature High Roller, a 550-foot observation wheel right in the heart of the Strip. This isn't your average Ferris wheel, either. The Linq will be nine feet taller than the Singapore Flyer and 107 feet taller than the London Eye. The observation wheel will have 28 transparent pods holding 40 passengers each. The ride itself is half an hour long and can take approximately 2,200 passengers in an hour. Talk about being in the center of all the action! 

If you're staying on the Strip, The Linq's convenient location is close to many hotels. Guests walking from the Flamingo hotel can access a pedestrian-friendly walkway right into The Linq. Even if you're just walking along the Strip, The Linq is easy to get to -- you won't have to go out of your way to pay a visit. 

Funded by Caesars Entertainment, The Linq project costs an estimated $550 million. In addition to the observation wheel, visitors can also enjoy an outdoor retail, dining and entertainment plaza patterned after The Grove in Los Angeles. The Linq will have a total of 30 to 40 shops and restaurants in a 200,000-square-foot marketplace. The majority will be a combination of restaurants and bars. These include Yard House, Tilted Kilt, Sprinkles Cupcakes and Flour & Barley. 

The Linq will also feature Brooklyn Bowl, a music venue that holds a capacity of 2,000-plus concert goers. Brooklyn Bowl will also have eateries, 32 bowling lanes, a section to watch sports during the day, nightly live performances and a nightclub area. 

The project is currently under construction on the street between the Flamingo and Imperial Palace hotels.
