Star Trek: Klingon Encounter Details

  • Hours of operation: Note: The entire Star Trek attraction closes permanently on Sept. 1, 2008. Star Trek: The Experience is open daily from 11:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Weekend closing times may vary. The retail shop is open until 10 p.m. Sunday - Thursday and 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
    • Klingon Encounter: The first ride is at noon. daily. The last ride is at 8:30 p.m.
  • Cost: 
    • Dual mission ticket prices are $42.99 per person, $35.99 for children under the age of 12 and seniors 65+. Nevada residents receive a $5 discount.
    • Admission for "Star Trek: The Experience -- Secrets Unveiled" is $31.99 with the purchase of a ride ticket, or $39.99 for a single tour ticket.
    • Souvenir photos in the Captain's Chair and/or the BORG Regeneration Chamber are $14.99 each or $24.99 for both.
    • The Latinum Package includes a dual mission ticket, admission to "Star Trek: The Experience: Secrets Unveiled" and two free photos (in the Captain's Chair and the BORG Regeneration Chamber) for $79.99.
  • Payment options: Cash, US Traveler's Checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
  • Reservations: The attraction can accommodate private parties from 20 to 700, including product announcements, employee incentives, company parties, press conferences and other special events. Group discount tickets can also be arranged. Call (702) 697-8750 for more information.
  • Location: Located at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel-casino near the intersection of Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue. About 1.5 miles from the Vegas Strip.
  • Age/Height/Weight restrictions: You must be 42 inches tall to ride. Children less than 42 inches are admitted into the museum for free. Those with children under the age of 21 should line up at the entrance outside of the casino.

  • Shuttle ride: 4 minutes
  • Complete experience: 22 minutes
  • Ride technology: Ride technology projects the film activity on the ride in front of, overhead and on the left and right side of the rider. The ride also features the only six axis simulator in a domed theater to create a realistic journey.
  • "Star Trek" stars appearing in ride film: Jonathan Frakes as Commander William Riker, LeVar Burton as Geordi LaForge.
From the moment it begins, you are aware that the Klingon Encounter is unlike most simulator rides. As part of a group of visitors you are preparing for a tour aboard the USS Enterprise when things go terribly wrong.

Suddenly, the entire group has been "accidentally" beamed onto the ship through a gap in the time/space continuum. And as you are ushered onto the ship's deck, the Enterprise comes under attack by several Klingon warships.

The Klingons have discovered that someone in your group is an "ancestor" of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and demand the passenger be handed over to them immediately.

The Federation Crew hurries to return the visitors to where they came from, so as not to disrupt history and the Picard family line. But can they get everyone out safely while being attacked by the Klingons? Or will the Klingons have their way and change history?

Throughout the attraction "Next Generation" stars Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton make appearances as Commander William Riker and Lieutenant Geordi LaForge via video, making this journey even more incredible.

In addition, you can now take a souvenir photo in the Captain's Chair on the Bridge of the Starship Enterprise for $14.99 each. Scheduled times for photos are 12:45, 2:45, 4:45, and 6:45 p.m. and participants must sign up ahead of time at the ticket booth.
