Dig This Review
We all wish we could be kids again. While a time machine isn't exactly an option, Dig This turns your sandbox days into reality.
Perfect for the big kids at heart (14 years and older), this attraction allows you the chance to operate a state-of-the-art "Caterpillar" D-5 track-type bulldozer or 315CL hydraulic excavator. If you choose to take on the bulldozer, you'll get to dig trenches, ride over tall mounds and push gigantic boulders.
In addition to pushing boulders, with the excavator you'll have the chance to lift 2,000-pound tires and stack them up into a pyramid formation. In addition to these activities, with the excavator you'll have the chance to take basketballs one by one and place them on cones. Whether you choose the excavator or bulldozer ride, both missions are challenging and fun. And with five acres of a super-sized sand box, you'll definitely have room to get down and dirty.
After a brief safety and equipment orientation, you'll be given a hard hat, vest and radio. Once you climb aboard, you'll be operating an excavator or bulldozer in no time. And don't be intimidated by all the switches and gears. Even the most scaredy cat driver will gain confidence with the help of an experienced instructor talking you through step-by-step via radio. During the hot summer months, the climate-controlled machinery provides cool air conditioning.
Once you've completed your work (fun work, at that!), you'll be given a personalized certificate of completion for your duties. If you want to take a piece of this experience with you, Dig This offers apparel, hats, accessories and toy bulldozers and excavators for sale.
Founder Ed Mumm came up with the idea while he was operating heavy equipment to construct his home. After having the time of his life clearing trees, digging holes, constructing a road and much more, he became inspired to open up an attraction that allows people to have the same type of fun.
Now you can finally relive your childhood dreams and get in the sand -- ya dig?
