Winner Chosen For Direct The Next VEGAS.commercial Contest

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- June 18, 2007…We have a winner! VEGAS.com, in collaboration with the CineVegas Film Festival, has declared Brian Lazzaro of Venice, California the winner of the first Direct The Next VEGAS.Commercial Contest. The announcement was made at an official CineVegas party, packed with film industry insiders, celebrities and media. The festivities took place at Planet Hollywood's Extra Lounge which was transformed for the evening into the "VEGAS.com Lounge."

The five finalists were flown in from different parts of the country to present their VEGAS.com commercial on Thursday, June 14th to a panel, which included celebrity judge Dennis Hopper; performers Gordie Brown, Brent Barrett and Nathan Burton; CineVegas executives and VEGAS.com honchos. Prior to the red carpet event, the five finalists enjoyed dinner with the judges, who all took the time to offer their expert film industry insight and advice.

Chosen for his entry entitled "The All Nighter," Brian Lazzaro was awarded a cash prize of $5,000 and will soon act as the director of the next national VEGAS.com TV spot. The winning commercial begins in California, where a man walks down the street carrying a pole and a cocktail. People on the street gawk and stare. A beautiful woman walks towards him and he approaches her. He plants the pole on the sidewalk and through his body language; he encourages the woman to dance for him. "Many companies who have run contests to solicit ideas from the public have been unsatisfied with the results. By teaming up with CineVegas, we reached an extremely talented pool of contestants. The Direct The Next VEGAS.Commercial Contest marks the first time VEGAS.com has turned to user-generated content for advertising ideas.
