VEGAS.com Selects Percussion Software’s Rhythmyx Enterprise Content Management System for Multi-Site, Multi-Channel Solution

Rhythmyx to Manage Content for Trio of Consumer Web Sites, Call Center and Concierge Sales Applications, and Private-Label Web Solutions

WOBURN, MA -- March 27, 2006 -- Percussion Software, a leading developer of practical software solutions enabling customers to maximize the value and quality of enterprise content, today announced that VEGAS.com, the world's largest city site, has selected Percussion's Rhythmyx Enterprise Content Management System to leverage its content across multiple Web sites and sales channels online and offline.  Rhythmyx will deliver content for the company's three main web sites, which include VEGAS.com, LasVegas.com and the Spanish language site espanol.vegas.com.  It also will feed content to the company's 24/7 contact center based in the Las Vegas area, and to more than 26 retail and concierge desk locations at major hotels in Las Vegas, as well as provide content for private-label and cobranded sites for VEGAS.com partners, such as US Airways Vacations and America Online.

VEGAS.com selected Rhythmyx after a competitive evaluation of content management vendors.  Rhythmyx will replace the content management functionality in the company's homegrown system as part of a major infrastructure upgrade designed to give the company a more robust technology platform.  Reasons for the selection include:

  • Reduced software development time thanks to Rhythmyx FastForward for WCM capabilities that will streamline roll-out and reduce reliance on custom coding;
  • Easy repurposing of VEGAS.com Web content in additional sales channels, including the company's 24/7 contact center and retail and concierge desk locations at major hotels;
  • More effective content syndication through deployment of private-label and cobranded sites that offer Las Vegas information, show tickets, etc. under the brands of VEGAS.com partners, such as US Airways Vacations and America Online;
  • Easy integration with existing VEGAS.com infrastructure;
  • Site cloning capabilities to simplify VEGAS.com's initial implementation;
  • Scalability to support multiple Web sites and sales channels, due to the Rhythmyx De-Coupled Delivery architecture;
  • Empowering business users and power users to create content, taking IT out of the content production process; and
  • Rhythmyx workflow, which will provide security, as well as a vehicle to set content quality standards.
