Vegas Celebrities Support the Real Vegas Experts in Integrated Marketing Campaign
Consumers Can Vote on Their Favorite Videos and Enter Sweepstakes to Win An Insider's Weekend in Vegas
(LAS VEGAS, October 5, 2009) -- A new VEGAS.com integrated marketing campaign features nearly 30 Vegas acts who appear in videos where they work at VEGAS.com in various jobs, helping to promote the city's tourism and entertainment.
The Vegas Experts Exposed campaign was shot on-location in the Southern Nevada offices of VEGAS.com, the world's largest city travel website. There were no formal scripts or makeup and no masked men in black -- just Vegas celebrities interacting with the real Vegas expert employees at VEGAS.com. New videos will be released each week for the next four weeks. Viewers can see and vote for their favorite videos by visiting www.vegas.com/exposed. In phase two of the campaign, which starts the week of Nov. 2, viewers will vote on the four finalists from prior weeks to choose an overall winning video which will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The four finalist videos will be used as the basis for a TV campaign. After voting, viewers will be entered into sweepstakes where the winner and a guest will be whisked away for an expertly planned and indulgent insider's weekend with VEGAS.com staff to meet and greet celebrities. The trip includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, a shopping spree and more.
"This isn't just a stunt; our offices are just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, and celebrities come in each week to interact with the staff of VEGAS.com," said Howard Lefkowitz, President of VEGAS.com. "The Las Vegas entertainment community is wonderful to work with -- we all live and work and play together and had a lot of fun creating this campaign. We at VEGAS.com are excited to be working with our partners to use innovative channels to reach a wider audience to showcase the city's hospitality and entertainment."
Seven videos will be released each week for four weeks (eight videos on the fourth week) for a total of 29, designed to highlight the various roles of VEGAS.com's employees. Videos feature celebrities assisting (or participating) in a myriad of job functions, ranging from employee training, accounting, customer service, human resources, web design, marketing, content creation, programming and more.
Watch as Marie Osmond answers calls and answers questions in VEGAS.com's contact center. Carrot Top is harassed by his Mom because he forgot to bring his backpack (and the cookies she packed) to work. Cirque du Soleil's KÀ provides security -- and won't let anyone in unless they have their ID badge. Employees are happy to participate in fitness class when it's taught by Stripper 101. And you can imagine the reaction of employees picking up their dry-cleaning when it's delivered by dancers from X-Burlesque. These video spoofs of celebrities on the job showcase the real experts at VEGAS.com as they do their job well and make it look easy.
"Working in Vegas for the Vegas tourism industry sure beats working for the Vegas tourism industry from somewhere else in the United States or somewhere else in the world," said Dan Hippler, Director of Marketing at VEGAS.com. Hippler appears in one of the videos as an employee who is trying to mimic the moves of male dancers from American Storm.
The campaign will be available to the millions of visitors to VEGAS.com and through the company's established social media presences on Facebook (www.facebook.com/vegas), Twitter (www.twitter.com/vegascom), YouTube (www.youtube.com/vegas), in addition to more traditional advertising channels.
Voting begins on Monday, Oct. 5, at www.vegas.com/exposed. After voting, viewers will be enrolled in a sweepstakes to win an ultimate expert Vegas weekend. The winners and a guest will receive:
