Attention Political Party Animals: VEGAS.com Launches Crapshoot '08
Because Politics Can Get Dirty...And So Can Las Vegas
(LAS VEGAS, Sept. 29, 2008) -- Tired of all the 2008 presidential election hype? The nastiness and innuendo? The half-truths and naked lies? We're not either. We're good with naked. And in Las Vegas, our "polls" tend to have half-dressed women hanging from them.
That's why VEGAS.com is launching Crapshoot '08, a multichannel initiative with advertising, guerilla marketing and an online component giving discounts and free political Crapshoot '08 swag to customers launching Wednesday, Oct. 1 and running through the Nov. 4 elections.
"This is our attempt to make the campaign a little more tolerable," said VEGAS.com President Howard Lefkowitz. "Come to Vegas and you won't have to listen to all of the gloom and doom -- at least for a couple of days."
Expect to start seeing "VEGAS: Because you need to be drunk to make it through this election" bumper stickers and "VEGAS.com Crapshoot '08" buttons across the country. The campaign's first ad breaks in LA Weekly's "Best of LA" issue on Oct. 2. The VEGAS.com Crapshoot '08 video campaign can be viewed at www.VEGAS.com/crapshoot.
Here's how it works: Book rooms at Las Vegas hotels, tickets for Vegas shows, nightclub passes or golf tee times on VEGAS.com, enter the name of your choice for presidential candidate -- yes, there's a None of the Above option, just like on Nevada's ballot -- and get $20 off when you spend at least $200*. Check back daily at www.VEGAS.com/crapshoot to see what your fellow party/political animals think as we tally up the poll and calculate the odds.
Since this is Vegas, we're going to pick solely based on party -- as in, who would we rather party with. But that's just us...and it's all just a Crapshoot.
