Vegas.com Platinum Plus Visa
The pitch: Earn points for Vegas travel, passes and more!
Register rating: ***

If you're planning a trip to Sin City or you're a frequent visitor, here's a way to shave a few more dollars off your Vegas budget. The new Vegas.com Platinum Plus Visa lets cardholders accrue reward points that can be traded for anything sold on the Vegas.com site. That includes lots of goodies, ranging from deals on hotel accommodations to show tickets and helicopter flights over the glittering Vegas Strip. Each dollar spent on the card (purchases only) earns one Vegas.com point. Points expire in about five years. Vegas.com, launched in 1998, is a one-stop-shopping site for travelers looking to book rooms, transportation, shows and other events in Vegas. Your reward points are good only on the site. For example, at 11,300 points, get a ticket to Siegfried & Roy, worth about $105. Or at 1,299 points, get a free lunch buffet at the Aladdin, worth about $14. Or take a helicopter ride over Vegas at night for 4,900, a trip worth $72. (Sorry, if you use your card for casino spending - no rewards.) It's a nice deal if you're a Vegas fan - and don't mind using Vegas.com for bookings.
